"I genuinely believe that learning to play the piano and reading music lays the foundation for learning to play all other musical instruments."

Hello! I'm Brenda Woods and I am the owner and piano instructor of WadeMor Piano Studio. I love teaching piano, and it all began when a good friend asked me to teach her daughter. I said yes, and here I am, over 14+ years later (I've lost track), still teaching.

I initially started teaching private lessons to students of all ages out of my home. In March of 2023, I was introduced to a fellow piano teacher from Texas who teaches group lessons. This intrigued me and I wanted to learn all about it. She generously shared everything she had learned, and then it hit me. I thought to myself, "This is a great way to reach more people within my community and avoid putting students on a waiting list due to a shortage of piano teachers in this area and my busy schedule." So, the story begins. My mind started racing about how I could do this and where. Long story short, God opened the doors for me to rent space in downtown Fremont on Main Street. I took occupancy on July 1st, 2023 and started renovations. I was ready for students the first full week after Labor Day, right on schedule.

Music has been a passion of mine, along with playing the piano. But now, being able to teach all I've learned and applying the experience I've gained over my lifetime, that passion has grown. I started learning to play the piano and reading music at a young age, which allowed me to play the violin and flute as well. My grandmother was the person who first taught me to play the piano when I was seven years old. I had multiple teachers as I grew up and have been playing ever since. I genuinely believe that learning to play the piano and read music lays the foundation for learning to play all other musical instruments.

Some of the developmental benefits of piano lessons include:

- it keeps the senses and memory sharp
- it encourages students to be creative
- practicing an instrument instills better work ethic
- piano playing teaches time management
- piano improves other academic skills
- playing piano strengthens hand-eye coordination
- it's relaxing and calms the mind
- it improves self-esteem
- it sharpens fine motor skills
- it can reduce anxiety
- boosts cognitive and intellectual abilities
- improves memory
- builds good habits like focus, perseverance, and diligence

WadeMor Piano Studio offers a safe and fun learning environment that fosters camaraderie among students. I've been teaching some families for many years, and I have amazing families and students of all ages. I instruct both adult students and young to teenage students. While the majority of my young to elementary aged students take group lessons with up to four students in a group, I also offer private 30 or 45-minute lessons.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or inquiries, and I look forward to serving my community.
